July storyteller Scott Burgh is an American law librarian, legal historian, and researcher who served as Chief Law Librarian for the City of Chicago Department of Law Library for nearly 28 years before retiring in 2017. A lifelong civic and political activist, he became involved in political campaigns at age ten while growing up in the Chicago suburbs. He served as Secretary of the Illinois Gay and Lesbian Task Force and as a volunteer, board member, and president of the Gerber/Hart Library and Archives, helping to develop collections documenting the AIDS epidemic and anti-gay violence during the 1980s and 1990s.
