Sidetrack is an LGBTQIA+ establishment in the heart of Chicago Proudest Neighborhood. When planning your visit, here are a few things to remember:
“Is Sidetrack 21+?”
We welcome everyone over the age of 21 (with valid ID).
“Are you open today?”
Our current Autumn 2020 hours are 1-11pm Saturday & Sunday, 3-11pm Monday-Friday.
Sidetrack is open 365 days a year, but there are certain holidays and special occasions for which the bar may open earlier or later than regularly scheduled. We do our best to list this on the website whenever possible. (Pre-Pandemic Sidetrack was open Mon-Fri 3pm-2am, Saturday 1pm-3am and Sunday 1pm-2am.)
You must wear an appropriate face mask when arriving at Sidetrack, when you are walked to your table, when you interact with a Sidetrack Staff member at your table and when you use the Restroom or Exit the Bar. Your temperature will be checked at the door. We are currently limited to Outdoor Seating only (on our Front Patio and Rooftop Deck). Tables are spaced 6 feet apart and there may not be more than 6 people at a table. Everyone must remain seated while at the table. Customers are asked not to table hop or wander around the Bar. Instructions are posted at the front door and throughout the Bar.
“Is there a cover?”
Except for special events such as New Year’s Eve (which benefits The Legacy Project), there is not a cover at Sidetrack.
“Do you have Coat Check?”
We are currently not checking Bags/Coats during Phase 3.
When we are back to Pre-Pandemic norms, Coat Check is $2, we accept cash or credit cards
Coat Check and Bag Check Policy
All bags, purses, coats and packages will be inspected prior to entry. Bags and large purses must be checked into bag check (complimentary). Sidetrack staff will determine which bags and purses must be checked in. We will also ask people to open large coats upon entrance. We strongly suggest that all coats be checked for your safety and the security of your items.
“Is there parking at Sidetrack?”
During Phase 3 we are not offering Valet Parking. When we return to Pre-Pandemic norms:
Valet ($10) is available Thurs-Sun after 7PM. MidWest Valet is a business independent of Sidetrack and can be contacted at 312-296-1159 and 312-933-7173.
The 44th Ward has begun to place parking restrictions on North Halsted in front of Sidetrack during weekends and busy event times. Please remain alert to signage for parking restrictions on Halsted Street.
“Do you have a drink special tonight?”
Our well cocktails are $6 every day, and our specialty frozen cocktails are $8.
“Do you accept credit cards?”
We proudly accept all major credit cards. We do not run tabs, or leave tabs open.
“Where can I get that shirt?”
Sidetrack partners with the Men’s Room Chicago to carry Sidetrack shirts including our Sunday Funday, Musical Monday and Love Is Love shirts.
“When do you have Show Tunes?”
During Phase 3 we have Show Tunes on Friday from 4-8pm and Monday from 7-11pm. When we return to Pre-Pandemic norms:
We have Show Tunes three times per week, Fridays from 5-9, Sundays from 5-10 and Monday 8-close. Schedule subject to change for specialty programming (such as RuPaul’s Drag Race on Fridays, or holidays).
“Are you showing RuPaul’s Drag Race?”
Join us every Thursday this Fall at 8pm for Chicago’s Drag Race Holland Viewing Party! Post-Pandemic: Our viewing party has the most screens including our giant screen in the Main Bar. Get here early to get a good spot, and stick around after for Chicago’s best local queens!
“I think I may have lost something at Sidetrack, what should I do?”
In order to get in touch with Lost & Found, please call 773-477-9189 after 11am and ask for help with Lost & Found.
“Are you hiring?”
New hires don’t start as bartenders. Most new hires begin on the door or as a barback. You are welcome to fill out an application in person at Sidetrack Monday-Friday between 3 and 8PM.
