Josh Friedberg
February storyteller Josh Friedberg is a TEDx speaker, scholar, college writing tutor, and academic coach. This is his second time performing at OUTspoken LGBTQ+ storytelling, and he has also told stories at CHIRP First Time, Tellin’ Tales Theatre, and You’re Being Ridiculous. He has worked as a college writing tutor and academic coach for over a decade and has a master’s degree in English from Northeastern Illinois University, and he is the High School Communications Contest Chair for the Illinois Woman’s Press Association. Josh has an inordinate knowledge about music (he was a staff writer for the international web magazine PopMatters) which may seem intimidating, but he will not make fun of you for not knowing the same music, despite his one-time hipster-length beard; there’s also a lot he doesn’t know. Hear Josh’s story Tuesday, February 4, at OUTspoken! LGBTQ+ Storytelling at Sidetrack.
