Jay Myers
January storyteller Jay Myers is a native of Normal, Illinois who has lived many other places in his life (thank God), including Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Santa Fe, and Puerto Vallarta. He is a now mostly a writer and “Jack Of Many Trades” and he’s come to love that journey. In 2024-2025 Jay participated as an Elder in the LGTBQ Intergenerational Dialogues Project here in Chicago, and he is also currently working with the Dialogue Project on producing a “road map” for other groups in other cities who want to start an Intergen Dialogue themselves. Jay has been fiercely frank since his early childhood about his Transgender truth, and seeks to communicate the lows and the highs of being Transgender to willing listeners. He finally underwent full Transition in 2023 and is now happily living an even better life, but helping others cope and thrive is his new mission. Hear Jay’s story Tuesday, January 6, at OUTspoken at Sidetrack. Seating from 6pm, stories 7-9pm.
