July storyteller Roderick K. Hawkins is the Associate Dean of External Affairs and Chief of Staff at the Northwestern University School of Communication. His career has included leadership roles at the Chicago Urban League, Advance Illinois, and the office of former Mayor Rahm Emanuel. As a civic leader, he serves on the boards of the Auditorium Theatre, and the Illinois Sports Facilities Authority. A native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Hawkins enjoys good theater, good food, good friends, and good men. Hear Roderick’s story Tuesday, July 7, at OUTspoken at Sidetrack.
