May storyteller Jamiece Adams is a writer, educator, and organizer. They received their MFA in creative writing from Columbia College Chicago. She is a 2019 Lambda Literary fellow. Their written work has been published in Rabbit: Nonfiction Poetry Journal, The Lambda Literary Anthology of Emerging LGBTQ+ Writers, Hypertext Magazine, and elsewhere. She received an award from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association and was nominated for an Illinois Arts Council Award. She is the co-founder and co-editor of Disco Kitchen Magazine, whose third issue was just published online last month. Hear Jamiece’s story Tuesday, May 5, at OUTspoken at Sidetrack.
