Lou Dangelo
December storyteller Lou Dangelo is an older Gay man who finds himself out of time and space – take that to mean what you will, it is true in many senses. A Rumpelstiltskin Gay, if you will…
Perhaps the best way to describe him is that he bears an uncomfortably strong resemblance to Ignatius J. Reilly from A Confederacy of Dunces, who “is something of a modern Don Quixote—eccentric, idealistic, and creative, sometimes to the point of delusion.” Walker Percy described Ignatius as a ‘slob extraordinary, a mad Oliver Hardy, a fat Don Quixote, a perverse Thomas Aquinas rolled into one.’ He disdains modernity, particularly pop culture.” And there you have it – Pathos, Uninterrupted. Hear Lou’s story Tuesday, December 2, at OUTspoken LGBTQ+ Storytelling at Sidetrack – seating from 6pm, stories 7-9pm.
