We are pleased to announce that OUTspoken is now a Podcast! OUTspoken is Chicago’s monthly storytelling event celebrating uniquely personal stories from across the LGBTQ community. OUTspoken is held on the first Tuesday of each month at Sidetrack. Due to Chicago Covid-19 Safety Restrictions new evenings of OUTspoken are temporarily on hold. Since its inception, we have recorded all audio from the 6-7 stories each month and have had the intention of creating a podcast around these stories. Since we cannot currently meet in person, we saw this as a great time to move forward with creating the podcast.
For our fourth Podcast, we are celebrating Pride Month by featuring a special interview of Tree, a longtime bartender at the Stonewall Inn, where he had just started working the night a very famous riot broke out in 1969… He’s interviewed here by historian Owen Keehnen live at Sidetrack on June 5, 2019. The podcast is hosted and produced by Devlyn Camp.
